Children's home cheer

- By Michelle Diggle

JUST after lock-down, we had a request from the Elche Children’s Care Home for cleaning materials, sanitisers and food.

We contacted supermarket chain Musgrave in Elche, who are avid supporters of the ECCH charity. We sent them the list of requirements and asked whether they could help.

Alfonso, the director of the home was delighted when they contacted him the next day to say the complete list was ready and waiting for him to collect, free of charge, at their Dialsur Cash and Carry in Altabix, Elche.

Pictured below are photos of the donation together with a banner made by the children, thanking Musgrave for their support. The ECCH would like to send our sincere gratitude to Maria Jose Gil and all the staff at Musgrave for their kindness and support.

So far the charity has spent €900 on food for the children since lockdown. As you can imagine, feeding 20 children, 24/7 does not come cheap and we are drawing on current funds, which are not now being replenished through charity events, collections, etc.

Alfonso assures us the children are safe and well, and being taken good care of in the home.

We would normally be collecting Easter eggs for them at this time of year, but our usual collection points in bars are not accessible. However, you can still buy an Easter egg by making a donation with credit/debit card or Paypal on our website www.ecch.es. Alternatively, if you would like to pay by bank transfer, email me on info@ecch.es and I will send you our bank details.

Stay safe, keep well and wishing you all the Happy Easter.
