Scrabble Club challenge

- By Christine Watkins of Almoradí Scrabble Club

IF, like most people, you have heard the news that it looks likely that the lockdown will continue beyond April 25, but with some restrictions lifted, there will be more hours to fill at home.

Below, last week’s game is continued. Given the letters, what would be the next best word to play? If you find the correct one, it will earn you 78 points.

If you ‘have the time’, why not see how many words you can make with two or more letters from the tiles on the rack?

Another computer game some readers may not have heard of is Grabbyword; it is similar to Scrabble but you have more letters. There is a twist in that if you use your opponent’s letters to affix your word to, the letter score is deducted from them and added to yours.

You have to be very canny; it is easy for the game to go any way. You can play against the computer or invite a friend or relative to play against you.

Happy hunting.
