FREE ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN

A complete programme of activities aimed at learning about our natural heritage and environmen­tal education especially for the youngest. L’Ampolla beach will be the place chosen for the environmen­tal workshops for children from 5 to 14 years old that will take place in July, Thursday 30, and in August on Thursday 6 from 09.30 to 13.30.

The Pilar de la Horadada nature sites – Lagunas de Lo Monte and the Río Seco area – are open again and ready to be visited. The sites have been cleaned and disinfecte­d and visitors are asked to adhere to the new sanitary rules against Covid-19 – observing social distancing from other groups; wearing a face mask if they cannot do so; and washing their hands frequently.

Lagunas de lo Monte stands off the CV-941 road from Mil Palmeras to San Miguel de Salinas and it is an important bird watching area.

The site is made up by old ponds of the former sewage treatment plant, which were used to store treated water for farming purposes.

When the plant was closed, the ponds became a shelter for native and migratory

NIGHT HIKING ROUTES

Interpreti­ve hiking night routes have been organised with the aim of using the town's environmen­tal and cultural values as tourist resources, putting them in value through sustainabl­e activities that respect the environmen­t and its inhabitant­s.

Each route, intended for all ages, will have a guide and its registrati­on at teh tourist info office will be free.

Route 2: "Marjal del Senillar Protected Landscape of the Vall de les Sorts".

Place and time of departure: Espai la Senieta (Tourist Info) at 20.30

Distance and estimated time: 4 Kilometres approx. / 2.5 hours. Saturday, August 15

Route 3: "Font de l'Horta - Canalins".

Place and time of departure: Plaza del Ayuntamien­to at 20.30

Distance and estimated time: 5 Kilometres approx. / 2.5 hours.
