HELPLINE Call 659 624 643 for all enquiries including requests

Five seasoned stalwarts gathered at the Cafe Playa Restaurant to renew acquaintances and utter wise thoughts in celebration of the return of the Calpe U3A Men’s Dining Group on Thursday evening, June 25.

Peter Purvey had organised and negotiated a price at this restaurant which is one of his favourites. We had a good range of choices and friendly service in an excellent location on the promenade - one of the restaurants situated in the Oasis building.

As we hadn’t met for several months we had lots to tell for loan of medical equipment: wheelchairs, walking frames etc.

There is no charge for this service but a deposit is requested and donations are always welcome to keep the service going. Full details on website. Donations can be dropped off at the charity shops which will be open for business (hopefully) on July 1.

In the meantime, the Jalón Valley Help van will be parked outside the shops to receive goods. These will be stored and sanitised before appearing for sale:

Orba on Mondays, Alcalalí on Wednesdays and Jalón on Fridays.
