Scrabble challenge
BY now, you will be getting into the swing of ‘the new norm’. Some of us are still quite anxious about what that all means. As long as people are sensible, we can all put the Covid-19 episode behind us for this year.
I hope you enjoyed last week’s challenge, finding the J word. The board this week is looking a bit ‘lefty’. Before this rack I had two seven-letter words but wasn’t able to fit them in.
But I did get good scores using the J and Z, using double-letter score for JO and JEW, and then the triple letter for the Z with ZED and ZO.
But now I have a rack with a blank tile, so it opens up an opportunity. There are in fact three words, but I could only fit in two of them, and I chose the one which is more recognisable.
So will you be able to find the one that gives a score of 85 or the one for 87?
Scrabblers are looking forward to our first meeting this week. I wonder how many seven-letter words will be played then?
Have a good week.
