Jalon Valley Help opens up

-

July 1 saw the reopening of Jalón Valley Help's recently totally refurbished shop in Alcalalí. The refurbishment, masterminded by Ron Heggs, has been a major project and will provide a much improved shopping environment, which hopefully will bring the needed additional income to enable the charity to continue all the good work it does to help the most vulnerable in the local community.

Jalón Valley President, Elaine Horton, thanked Ron for all his work on the project, Miguel Moldovan, builder for his significant contribution and all the volunteers who helped with painting, cleaning and getting the shop ready to open – "they should all be proud of what they have achieved" she said.

Orba JVH shop also opened again and business was brisk but all safety precautions were in place to ensure a safe shopping experience for all. It is great to have the Orba Valley now back with its own excellent charity shop available.

Unfortunately the opening of the charity's shop in Xaló has been delayed due to urgent repair work but will be open in the very near future. In the meantime the charity’s van will continue to be just near the shop every Friday morning from 10.00 to 13.00 hrs to accept donations of clean good quality clothes, household items, books etc.

Fundraising events are also starting again with a Danceathon at El Cid in Benidoleig on July 15 with many different activities and exercises to raise money for JVH – bookings contact Pam Small on 672 637 673 or smallinspain @hotmail.co.uk .

The next big fundraising event is being held at the Bullring in Alcalali on Saturday July 25 when the tip top OK Band will be playing. Places are limited to meet safety requirements and tickets are €10 each with maximum size table of eight. Bring your own food and drinks and book your tickets via 634 337 668 or eventsjvh@gmail.com
