Javea town hall’s department of culture has harnessed the power of the internet to reach out to the town’s residents and beyond.
Through the Xàbia Turisme Facebook page, everyone can enjoy music, concerts, cinema, comedy, theatre, and storytelling.
LOCAL MARKETS ARE BACK IN TOWN
The traditional weekly street markets have returned with stalls selling only food. There are new social distancing rules and hygiene measures to allow the stalls to welcome back the public.
The stalls are spread across the area to leave 2.5m between them and separated with a pathway for shoppers.
LIBRARIES ARE NOW OPEN
Libraries have reopened but with strict procedures. Gloves and masks are mandatory at all times.
Items that are being returned, such as books and dvds´ will be placed in a container and disinfected with virucidal then stored for 14 days before being opened.
Each container will be marked with the return date and 14-day quarantine date, after which it will be safe to return the items onto the shelves.
Those wanted to borrow items will not be allowed to browse but instead will have to request the items from staff, who will fetch them. During this period, users can reserve items via phone or email so that they can be ready for collection.
ALBIR CRAFTS MARKET
The traditional nightly Art & Craft stalls will be back in Albir from today, Friday, July
3 until September 3.
Located beside the anchor, at the beginning of the promenade, there will be a selection of artisan stalls with a selection of leather goods, jewellery, ceramics and glass ware, natural cosmetics, hair braiding, henna tattoos and caricature artistes. In addition, a little further down in the Frax Foundation car park, the children’s amusement park is open, with a range of rides, bouncy castles plus a tapas bar.

NORDIC WALKERS ARE BACK!
The Nordic Walkers Club of Alfas have resumed their outdoor activities after 2 months of lockdown not long ago. They meet twice a week, every
Tuesday and Thursday, from 8pm until 9pm.
Nordic Walking is a sport that makes 90% of the body'´s muscles work – around 600, increases general flexibility and strengthens the immune system. Recommended for all ages the sessions are limited to a maximum of 15 people and use of masks is mandatory.

FREE KAYAKING
The Department of Youth in Alfaz is offering free kayaking excursions, exploring the Serra Gelada Natural Park to those aged between 16 and 35.
The activity is totally free and available every Tuesday and Thursday throughout July and
August from 10am until 12 noon.
This is the ninth year that this has been offered by the town hall, thanks to Pedro Muñoz, the company who provide the sunbed rentals and kayak hire on Albir’s beach throughout the summer and will be providing the kayaks and lifejackets free of charge.
Due to social distancing regulations, therefore limiting the number allowed out, they have compensated by offering the activity twice a week.
