Thanks for the memory
Master of the Musical is Javea Players’ summer show and tribute to the hit musicals from the pen of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Reworked because of lockdown and the problems of rehearsing together, it features fewer singers and no dancers - but Roger Brown still promises a trip down memory lane.
Audiences are invited to enjoy the iconic numbers - including ‘Memory’ from Cats - but are asked not to sing along and risk an episode of ‘caterwauling’!
Social distancing will be strictly observed during the show that runs from Monday July 27 to Saturday August 1 and includes the traditional al fresco meal before the performances inside Jávea’s casa de cultura.
The al fresco meal takes place at 19.00 outside Bar Imperial and seats will be allocated on arrival. The show is at 21.00.
Tickets for Master of the Musical are now on sale at €19.50 each. For more information and the box office, visit www.javeaplayers.com.
Fingers crossed, there might be good news on the horizon! Unless there is a further setback, it is the intention that the Club re-open on Tuesday 1 September 2020. Currently a Royal Decree sets out the obligatory use of masks when a safe interpersonal distance of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained, with fines of up to €100 if this is not observed. Should the same regulation be in place at that time, members will be required to wear a mask please, and additional hygiene measures might be in place. However, things may well have changed by then.
