Results of the Jávea Cup Pairs competition , Oliva Nova Golf , Tuesday, July 14

We had 31 players turning out for Pego today, including one guest, Richard Pike.

It was a good day to play a little overcast but still warm, which made ideal playing conditions. The course was in good condition even though the greens were a little slow, we will just have to learn to hit the ball harder when putting! It was a close-run thing for top spot, with Susie Snelling and John Evans pipping Ian Robertson and Mick Farmer on countback. Both teams finishing with 69 points. The 3rd and 4th place were quite close as well with only a point separating

Malcolm Cannon and Peter Cornes from Jan Jones and Nigel Siddall.

Nearest the pin prizes went to Donna Green on hole 5, and Nigel Siddall on hole 16. There were 2 two’s on the day, but Nigel Siddall and Richard Pike didn’t register their interest, so the pot is rolled over until next week.

The same applies to the balls in the water there were 77 but no one guessed the correct number so the money remains in the pot for next week.
