- By Alex Watkins awatkins@cbnews.es

ALMORADÍ has a wide range of activities for all ages and tastes this summer, which have been designed to comply with all the required health measures.

Since the traditional fiestas had to be cancelled, the town hall has come up with simple alternatives that they say are more like how the town would have celebrated in the olden days. There will be twice as many outdoor summer cinema screenings, a total of eight, some of which will also be shown in the rural districts of El Saladar and Heredades.

For children, every Thursday in July in different plazas, including rural districts, there will be storytelling and magic shows, which will continue in August on Fridays.

There will also be a big musical featuring songs from the movies on Thursday, July 30, and a tribute concert to Queen on Friday, July 31, both in the Plaza de la Constitución at 22.00.

In Plaza de la Constitución on Saturday, July 25 starting at 22.00, there is comedy from

Los Quillos.

The local musical band will give a recital of Moors and Christians fiesta marches on August 1, and the Pandilla de Drilo children’s show with Sim Saladín will be on August 8 and on August 15 the Sette Voci tenors will perform a concert. Also on August 15 – but in Heredades, the Almoradí Unión Musical band will play.

There will be an Alejandro Sanz tribute concert on August 22, and a concert of ballroom dancing music on August 29,

A musical of songs from our childhoods, Un Mundo de Fantasia, will also be in the plaza at 22.00 on Friday, September 4.
