Pego Golf Society
Results of the singles stableford competition held in Oliva Nova Golf on Tuesday, July 21
We had 25 players turning out for Pego today, including one guest, Richard Pike.
It was a very warm day and that did reflect in some of the scoring, although the overall winner didn’t seem to have a problem, well done Peter Ketteringham who came in with a score of 38 points to win the competition. See full results below and a picture of some of the winners.
There were two twos today Fiona Sankey and Susie Snelling so the pot went to the girls this week and as it was a roll over from last week, they did ok! Nearest the pin on hole 16 went to Susie Snelling with 1.2 metres, nearest the pin in 2 on hole 5 went to Donna Green with 3.81 metres so the women outclassed the men again. The other notable event was Peter Cornes score on the 15th hole, he had a 30’ putt for a 5 and just as he hit the ball a few ducks decided to walk across the green, his ball hit one of them on the foot and deflected into the hole, so he had a net birdie, lucky guy.
One other event which a
Pego member excelled was the Valencian Open held at Villaitana on Sunday, Shaun O’Gorman with a gross score of 71 took the winner's position, so well done Shaun from all your friends at the Pego Golf Society. Today’s winners:
