Appeal for ARC animal charity
The problems the continued pandemic is causing the ARC charity is making life extremely difficult.
Jalón Valley ARC is a small charity that covers a huge area, namely all the villages that are in the Vall de Pop, consequently the charity tries to answer calls for assistance with abandoned animals, many of which at this time are kittens.
In addition, Matt CurtisMason, President of ARC and a well-known entertainer on the Costa Blanca North, had an accident breaking his leg. He had just got back to doing some gigs and things were picking up after the lockdown when this happened. He is now unable to work for at least six weeks more, which is affecting the support he gives to ARC, both financial and physical, and his wife Sally is having to do all the animal care and rescue.
Please if anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. It's big ask but due to Matt being unable to work we are struggling to support the cats. Currently, we have 27 cats and kittens to care for and expecting another four little ones for foster next week. We are taking them in as they are in danger from end of next week. We also have Merlin who needs an eye operation to remove his eye and four in long-term foster care. We have always supported the ARC with our own money and donations from our supporters. Funds for the Jalón Valley ARC are getting low, we have money to pay a good lump sum off the current vet’s bill, but that keeps growing.
We were hoping to hold a few events but due to Matt breaking his leg and confined to bed, and the Covid pandemic, all have been put on hold. We also planned to do a few rastro markets but restrictions prevent that. So currently there is no money coming in for the ARC. Sally did manage to sell a couple of items last week so there's a little in the pot.
