Results of the Memorial Trophy competition held in Oliva Nova golf on Tuesday August 4

We had 27 players turning out for Pego today, including two guests, Richard Pike and Pablo Simon, we hope they enjoyed the game.

As we have come to expect at this time of the year it was a very warm and humid day, which reflected in some of the scores, but not the winners who all scored really well, with Paul Sankey coming out top of the draw with a great 39 points. The 3rd 4th and 5th places were decided on countback. See all the winners below.

There were two twos today so last week’s roll over was shared by Paul Sankey, holing out for a two on the difficult third hole and John Snelling holing his on the 16th . Nearest the pin on hole 16 went to Mick Farmer with1.84 metres. Nearest the pin with the second shot went to Derek Lindley on hole 5 with a distance of 6.5 metres.

As with last week there are no pictures for the paper, we had a discussion and unless we wear masks there could be an inference that we are not social distancing or wearing masks. We can continue to assure everyone that we are doing both of these things as the rules require, but did think masks would look odd in a photograph.
