T he 2 6 th A lfaz F antasy F ootball L eag ue came to a halt when A rsenal beat C helsea 2 -1 in the F .A . C up F inal to confirm their place in nex t season's E uropa C up. T he g ame produced for the F antasy L eag ue three g oals, 0 clean sheets, six yellow cards and one red one which was C roatian midfielder M ateo K ov acic who receiv ed two yellows from referee A nthony T aylor.

C ong ratulation­s, g o out to our ov erall champion, C hris whose team P romotion A g ain more or less won the A .F .F .L . when C helsea's P ulisic slotted the ball past M artinez to g iv e his team a 1 8 point adv antag e ov er W ade's team A lli B arber. K ey to their success was their strik e force of V ardy (2 0 5 ) R ashford (151)andPukki(119)addLiverpo­ol's M ane (1 7 1 ) to those 3 and you hav e a total of 6 5 2 points. W ade's A lli B arber who were top of the L eag ue for nine week s but after the lock down they nev er recov ered. K apur's team, Napali E lev en made a late charg e towards the finish but it was too little too late.

W ade's A lli B arber romped away with our C hampion of C hampions L eag ue, mak ing up for runners up position in the M ain L eag ue. S urprise winner in our M ark C arter ladies section where E laine's D iz z y B londe snatched the trophy away from D ebbie's F ox y F ilberts who had been at the summit for 1 4 week s, a bit lik e her fav ourite team L eicester C ity who ran out of steam in the final countdown.

H arley's G ing er Ninjar nev er look ed lik e losing our J unior L eag ue after tak ing ov er the number one spot around C hristmas time. L ast year's winners of this section W illiam & H enry did well to came back up but still fell short by 6 0 points. P iq ue B linders finished 3 rd while one of the early front runners L uck y R ed dropped out of the top 3 .

C atherine's P ompey H ammers were look ing a g ood bet to win our G olden B oot L eag ue but in the end they finished out of the top 3 . H enry's O ld S alfordians took ov er the top spot 3 week s ag o remaining there ev er since. G ary's S hack ladies D ream T eam came 2 nd, 1 3 points behind while G ing er Ninjar sneak ed into the 3 rd spot.

W illiam & H enry finished the season off in fine style by lifting our F .A . C up L eag ue trophy, thank s to that brace of g oals from A rsenal's star strik er A ubameyang .

M anag er of the month was won by G ary's S hack ladies D ream T eam who just pipped S arah's L ucy's L uck by 3 points.

T erry's H annak ins had a narrow 4 point win ov er J ack 's team W inners by 2 8 -2 4 in the final of our K .O . C up competitio­n and I'm pleased to report we had different winners in all our competitio­ns, g ood news for all our F antasy M anag ers.

S ix other teams will join them, thelowest scoring teams with a minus 2 score - M ark 's S alford S ausag es, W ednesday R G reat, F lorida P earls, M oston L ad, F leetpool and T he No H opers.

T he 2 6 th A .F .F .L . has been a bit frag mented due the pandemic so I hope ev erybody has enjoyed tak ing part in what has been a v ery stressful season. I would lik e to ask all the manag ers to be patient in the coming week s as I try to org anise the presentati­on as well as g etting ev erything ready for nex t season which starts on S eptember 1 2 .
