Calpe’s Covid control tactics
CALPE has called for people to be ‘responsible’ and register any large events they are organising in advance with the town hall, as it looks to control any further spread of Covid-19.
The local authority has reminded residents and visitors of the obligation to wear a mask, respect social distancing, and to ‘exercise extreme precaution’ in the fight against coronavirus.
Police continue to fine people not wearing masks - another 34 people have been reported - and areas of public parks have been sealed off to prevent large gatherings of people.
Meanwhile, municipal water company Aguas de Calpe is continuing its analysis of waste water samples in a bid to assess the ‘presence, concentration, and evolution of the virus SARS-Cov-2; as an indicator of how widespread the disease is in the community’.
Calpe town hall has also adopted recommendations from the regional government in Valencia: prior notice of events and meetings organised by the cultural department or associations, where attendance is expected to be 30 or more, should be given to the council; it is mandatory to notify the local authority should expected numbers be over 150.
Councillors have reminded the general public of the need to avoid gathering in numbers, to mantain social distancing, - to respect the legal capacities set by the authorities for shops, bars and restaurants.
As a safety measure, the town hall has closed barbecue areas in six parks as a ‘preventative measure’ against crowding. These are the Olta camping area, San Salvador, Vallesa, Enginent, Cometa, and Llombers.
