Oliva Nova Golf on Tuesday, August 11

Results of the stableford competition

We had 25 players turning out for Pego today, no guests this week, the previous weeks guests are now members, so we would like to welcome Viv Bacon and Richard Pike as new members of the society and they were both in the prizes today.

Another warm and humid day at Oliva, but it was a little cooler so that helped with the play this week. We had two divisions today and the winning scores were really good, I think some handicap adjustments for the two winners, see scores below.

There were two twos today Derek Lindley and Peter Cornes. Derek chipped in for his so he was really pleased.

Nearest the pins this week went to Peter Ketteringham on hole 5 with 7,70 metres, and Roy Jones on the 16th with 2.45 metres, and he holed the putt for a two, but alas he had not entered this week’s twos competition so did not win a share of the prize.

As with last week there are no pictures for the paper, we had a discussion and unless we wear masks there could be an inference that we are not social distancing or wearing masks. We can continue to assure everyone that we are doing both of these things as the rules require, but did think masks would look odd in a photograph.

Today’s winners Division 1:

1st Charlie Miller 42 pts 2nd Donna Green 37 pts 3rd Susie Snelling 37 pts 4th Peter Ketteringham 35 pts

Division 2:

1st Richard Pike – 39 pts 2nd Viv Bacon – 38 pts 3rd Fiona Sankey – 35 pts 4th Ian Robertson – 30 pts
