Denia Barbarians Rugby Club-Marina Alta

The newly re-branded Denia Barbarians Rugby Club on the Marina Alta, are looking for new players for the upcoming 2020/2021 season.

With an excellent grass pitch and stadium to train and play in, we are looking for players (both new and experienced) from 8 years old through to senior players (18+).

Current players come from all around the Marina Alta region, from Calpe to Gandía and inland to the Jalón Valley and Pego.

Our nationalities include Spanish, British, Argentinian, Chilean, French and Dutch. We even get the odd Australian and New Zealander joining us from time to time!

If kids have never played before do not worry, our monitors are well qualified and have been training kids from 8-16 for over 20 years. You can be safe in the knowledge they will be well looked after especially training on a nice grass surface.

Our seniors from all walks of life and the oldest players are in their 40s, so if you have played previously, then please come along to pre-season training and see how you get on. We're sure you'll love it.

We play in the Valencia leagues and although competitive, the main aim is to meet new friends from different parts of the world and enjoy the game of rugby

So if you are over 18 for the seniors and can still walk unaided and haven't drawn your pension yet, we think you might get a game.

Apart from kids and senior teams, we also have a 'Golden Oldies' team that play occasionally. To be a member of the Oldies, you need to be over 40, can walk 5 metres without falling over and be able to say "Hola" and "Gracias" whilst you get your drinks from the bar after the games.

So come on all you rugby lovers out there, if you want your kids to learn to play a great sport in a friendly but instructional atmosphere and play in a super league, then make the move and give us a call
