Alfas Classical Music Society is back in September

Live music – back after the break

-

After a break of six months because of the virus, the Alfas Classical Music Society is delighted to be getting going again with two concerts later this month, in the Casa Cultura and in Forum Mare Nostrum, thanks to the support of the Ayuntament de L’Alfas del Pi and Forum. The musicians this month are all internationally recognised string players from Valencia, Alicante and Murcia.

On Friday, September 25 at 20: 00 in the Forum Mare Nostrum, the International Soloists String Quartet, two violins, viola and cello, will present a programme of Leclair, Beethoven, Martinu and Dvorak.

One of those performers, the prestigious violinist Joaquín Palomares, founded the International Chamber Orchestra for strings some years ago and remains its Director.

On Saturday, September 26 in the Casa

Cultura at 20: 00 music lovers can enjoy the Orchestra playing a concert of music by Elgar, Tchaikovsky and Piazzolla, followed by Mendelssohn’s Octet. Joaquín will be joined by seven other string players including the superb cellist David Apellániz as soloist.

Full details of the programmes for both concerts are on the society’s website: www. alfasmusica. com

The Sociedad de Musica Clasica is collaborating with the Ayuntament and the Forum Mare Nostrum to ensure that the venues are safe for all those who wish to come and enjoy live music again.
