Results of the individual stableford competition held in Oliva Nova Golf on Tuesday September 15

It was as warm day at Oliva Nova on Tuesday, so all looked good for a great day’s golf. We had 35 Pego members playing today, along with three guests, Sylvia and Will Evans along with Frank Naughton, Sylvia won the guest prize coming in with 36 points so well- done Sylvia. There was only one 2 today and that honour went to Peter Ketteringham, who took the money with a two at the 16th hole, where he was also nearest the pin at 2,24m. The other nearest the pin prize went to Roger Brown with his second shot to the 5th hole finishing 64cm from the hole, we assume he managed a birdie!

There was some good golf in both divisions today. In the first division Shaun O’Gorman playing off 6 amassed a fantastic 42 points two clear of the ever- present man in the winner’s circle, Charlie Miller. It was a little closer in the second division with our Captain Brian Barden taking the honours by one point from Fiona Sankey, another regular winner, and Ian Robertson both finishing with 37 points.

Paul Trigwell ( Trig) is in the news again, he scored 5 points on the 13th, his second shot went straight in the hole, we wonder what he will do next week?

1st Shaun O’Gorman 42 pts 2nd Charlie Millar 40 pts 3rd Mick Farmer 39 pts 4th Paul Sankey 37 pts

Division 2:

1st Brian Barden 38 pts, 2nd Fiona Sankey 37 pts, 3rd Ian Robertson 37 pts, 4th Alan Simpsom 36 pts As with previous weeks following our recent custom, introduced because of Covid- 19 there are no pictures for the paper, we continue to believe that unless we wear masks there could be an inference that we are not social distancing or wearing masks. We can continue to assure everyone that we are doing both of these things as the rules require, but did think masks would look odd in a photograph.
