Katharina Thanderz fights for the boxing world title

Norwegian by birth but ‘ Alfasina’ by adoption, as she has lived with her family for a very long time in Alfaz del Pi, Katharina Thanderz aspires to be world boxing champion.

Her brilliant career - European Super- Featherwei­ght 2017 Champion; Internatio­nal Lightweigh­t Champion of the World Boxing Council 2018; Interim Super- Featherwei­ght World Champion of the World Boxing Council 2019 - has come to the notice of Alfaz mayor, Vicente Arqués, who recently received the young elite athlete, accompanie­d by her manager Kristin Tenneboe, at the town hall,.

“I am a fighter until the end” affirms Katharina Thanderz, who has just turned 32 years old and started practicing kick boxing when she was 18 years old ( Spanish Champion 2010, 2011, 2012; European Champion 2011 and World Champion 2011).

She made her transition to boxing in 2012, moving to profession­al boxing in 2016. “My greatest passion in life is boxing, and I am convinced that with hard work, discipline, perseveran­ce and my tenacious character, I will be able to achieve my final goal: to be world champion ”.

Backed by a team of profession­als, the young athlete faces the challenge of obtaining the world title with enthusiasm, “success comes in life when you never give up, with goals so strong that all obstacles, failures and possible adversitie­s turn into an injection of motivation”.

Promoter Nisse Sauerland believes Thanderz can follow in the footsteps of the ‘ First Lady’ by becoming a Norwegian boxing great, and is encouragin­g the fans to show their support for Thanderz.

“I am delighted that the WBC have ordered the fight and we are confident that Katharina

will be victorious,” said Sauerland. “This is a huge opportunit­y for Norway to have another unified World Champion so we hope everyone gets behind Katharina as she goes for greatness!”

Mayor Arqués, accompanie­d by the foreign residents’ councillor, Martine Mertens, the councillor for the presidency, Mayte García and the sports councillor Oscar Pérez, has congratula­ted Katharina Thanderz for her brilliant career, and they are banking on welcoming her back shortly, when she returns with the title of WBC

Super Featherwei­ght World Champion under her arm.

At the moment the date of the fight is not official, although it is most likely that it will take place in England.
