The town hall will install 432 letterboxes in 8 urbanizations
Calp town hall is continuing to install community concentrated letterboxes, on the urbanisations in the municipality, to guarantee the delivery of mail. This move comes after the post office announced a few years ago that the doortodoor delivery service would be interrupted, on those urbanisations that did not have community concentrated letterboxes or that were not properly organised in accordance with the provisions of the law on the Universal Postal Service and the Liberalisation
of Postal Services.
This year, a total of 432 letterboxes will be installed in the areas of Carrió Alto, Vallesa I, Empedrola I, Cometa III, La Merced, Gran Sol, Los Pinos and Carrió. The owners of a property in these urbanisations will be able to request the rental of a post box at the Citizen’s Advice Office ( OAC).
Although the installation of letterboxes is a matter for the citizens, the town hall considered it appropriate to carry out this initiative, aware of the difficulties this poses for the residents of the urbanisations.
The town hall began to install the first letterboxes in 2014, on that year alone 884 letterboxes were installed in the areas of Benicolada, Canuta, Canuta Alta, Canuta Baja, Estación, La Soliva and Oltamar. In 2016 a total of 516 letterboxes were installed in Benicuco, Borumbot, Calalga, Canuta de Ifach, el Tosal and Manzanera. Last year 684 letterboxes were installed in the areas of Bassetes, Buenavista, Caleta, Carrió, Colari, Cometa, Costeres, El Sol, Empedrola, Gran Sol, Merced, Ortembach, Pinarmar, Los Pinos and Vallesa.
