Orihuela ancient music

THE SECOND Orihuela renaissanc­e and Baroque music festival takes place this weekend.

The event started yesterday with a presentati­on entitled Siete razones para escuchar música Antigua ( seven reasons to listen to ancient music).

Tonight ( Friday, October 16) at 20.00, the CAM foundation auditorium is hosting the concert ‘ Monteverdi and Friends with Raquel Andueza and Jesús Fernández and La Galanía’.

This is followed on Saturday at 11.00 with an organ concert entitled A las armas: bajo el estruendo de la batalla ( to arms: under the thunder of battle) featuring Pablo Márquez at Orihuela cathedral, and at 20.00 there is a performanc­e called No te embarques pensamient­o ( don’t embark thinking) with Rocío de Frutos and Ánibal Soriano at the CAM foundation auditorium.

Bringing the festival to a

close, at 20.00 on Sunday there is a concert entitled A Circle in the Water featuring Delia Agúndez, Toni Aparisi, Carles Magraner and Robert Cases at the CAM foundation auditorium.

Full Covid19 protection measures, including the obligatory wearing of face masks, will be in force.
