T he break g iv es us a chance to reflect on what has happened so far in the P remier L eag ue and the A . F . F . L . W e hav e 1 7 0 teams tak ing part in this season's F antasy as well as hav ing sev en minileag ues on the g o.
T he F antasy L eag ue g ot off to a slow start with only six g ames contributing in the first week but since then there has been an abundance of points to be had for our F antasy manag ers.
T he early front runners in the A . F . F . L . are C arol's team S k y B lues who are the present leaders, S imon's team M y C anary G one, C lara's B abes and J ack ie's W inchester U nited who hav e all had one week stay at the summit.
T op players so far in this season's F antasy L eag ue are as follows: top k eeper is A ston V illa's M artinez with a tally of 1 7 points after sav ing a penalty and k eeping two clean sheets. T op defender is V illa's T yrone M ing s on 1 8 points. T op midfielder so far is S pur's smiling A ssassin S on who has collected 3 9 points. T he strik ers so far hav e plundered plenty of points, none more so than S purs super strik er H arry K ane who is the leading points scorer in the F antasy L eag ue with a total of 4 0 points. L eicester C ity's J amie V ardy ( 3 8 ) and E v erton's C allv inL ewin( 3 6 ) hav e scored more g oals than the S purs mark sman but he has already g ot six assists to his name more than he had all last season.
T he most selected player is M anchester C ity's K ev in D e B ruyne with 6 6 manag ers putting their faith in the talented B elg ium midfielder. A rsenal's prolific strik er A ubameyang was two selections behind. M ost selected k eeper is L iv erpool's A lisson with 3 3 pick s. In our J unior L eag ue T wo teams hav e opened up a big 4 9 point g ap at the top with last season's winner H arley's G ing er Ninja and C lara's B abes racing away in the early stag es.
T he G olden B oot L eag ue has been v ery competitiv e already but present leaders now are
J ack ie's W inchester U nited. T he top players in this section are S pur's S on ( 4 2 pts), L iv erpool's M o S alah ( 3 5 ) and E v erton's C alv inL ewin ( 3 0 ). D on't forg et in this L eag ue only g oals scored earn you points, if a defender scores he g ets 1 0 points, a midfielder 7 points and a forward 5 points, on the other hand if a player puts one in his own g oal he scores minus points. U p to now three players hav e scored for the opposition, B rig hton's D unk ( 1 0 ), B urnley's P ieters ( 1 0 ) and W olv es J imenez ( 5 ).
O v erall the F antasy L eag ue has g ot off to a flying start with 1 4 4 g oals being scored in the 7 8 P remier L eag ue g ames, 3 1 more than at the same stag e as last season. T here hav e also been 1 7 clean sheets, 1 1 1 yellow cards ( 1 3 down on last season) and fiv e red ones. V A R has had a big say in a lot of decisions especially in the 2 3 penalties which hav e been awarded. A t the same time last season only fiv e had been g iv en, I wonder if the referees are being a bit brav er now they are no crowds in attendance.
