ADDA ‘ESSENTIA’ SYMPHONIC MUSIC CYCLE THE SEASON IS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED
Until June 18: ADDA (Alicante provincial auditorium) 2020/21 ‘Essentia’ symphonic music cycle featuring some of the best national and international orchestras and soloists.
Ticket range from €30 and €60 and are available from the venue website at https://addaalicante.es All concerts are listed as starting at 20.00, however, starting times may vary due to changing Covid-19 regulations.
February 18: Essentia Piano – Lucerne Symphony Orchestra with director and piano soloist Martha Argerich perform Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2, and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings February 28: Essentia Brahms – ADDA Simfònica with invited director Darrell Ang and piano soloist Judith Jauregui perform Brahm’s Piano Concerto No. 1, and Symphony No. 2
March 12: Essentia Schumann – Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra directed by Marin Alsop with cello soloist Kian Soltani perform Schumann’s
Until June 5: Elche symphony orchestra (OSCE) directed by Mihnea Ignat, new season of concerts entitled Musica Mundi. All performances take place at the Gran Teatro. Tickets from the venue box office or www.instanticket.es range from €14-€18. Pensioners and people from large families can obtain a 25% discount. February 13: OSCE featuring the cellist Cecilia Martínez Rodríguez, perform music from the opera La Oración del Torero by Joaquín Turina, in addition to compositions by Haydn and Mozart
March 12: OSCE concert entitled Bella Italia, featuring a selection of music of tunes from Twelve concerti grossi by A Corelli
April 10: OSCE concert entitled B&B focusing on the music of Brahms and Beethoven
May 7: OSCE performance entitled America, inspired by Aaron Copland and Antonin Dvorak
June 5: OSCE concert entitled Los adioses del Quijote (Quijote’s goodbyes), with compositions by Bartók, Georg Philipp Telemann and Haydn

Cartagena’s Roman forum district – which includes the archaeological remains of the thermal baths, the banquet hall and the temple of the goddess Isis – is open again to visits. City hall noted that the site has been chosen as it stands in the open air and two-metre social distancing can easily be observed. The Roman forum district will be open from Friday to Sunday.
