Torrevieja theatre for families and young children

EDUCATIONA­L and imaginativ­e theatre for families with young children features heavily in the current schedule at Torrevieja internatio­nal auditorium.

The programme runs until May and contains a number of production­s that were due to have taken place prior to the latest Covid-19 restrictio­ns.

The children’s element of the programme was developed with the objective of ‘educating children through culture and entertainm­ent’.

Unless stated the shows start at 12.00.

Tickets for all shows cost €6 for children and €10 for adults, and are on sale now.

They are available online from www.auditoriot­orrevieja.com, and in person, on weekdays from 11.00-14.00 at the Virgen del Carmen culture centre, and the theatre box office two hours prior to each performanc­e.

Here is the schedule: April 18: Theatre production of Nautilus. 20,000 leguas de viaja submarino (Nautilus. 20,000 leagues under the sea)

May 2: Glove puppet production containing adaptation­s of several popular Valencian tales entitled El país de Babia (the country of Babia), by El Ball de San Vito theatre and puppet company

May 16: Nacho Diago production entitled Días de nocilla y magia (days of Nocilla – chocolate spread similar to Nutella – and magic), described as a ‘theatre performanc­e with memories, fears, humour, magic and Nocilla sandwiches’. The show was awarded first place in the 2005 national magic congress May 18: La Guasa theatre and circus company production entitled Móbil (mobile) commencing at 18.00. The show is described as the story of a ‘simple man and a complex machine’.
