Into the music

ALFAZ del Pi classical music society has published details of its April concert programme, which features a total of three performanc­es over this coming weekend.

The programme gets underway this evening (Friday, April 23) at 20.00 at the Forum Mare Nostrum in Alfaz, with a concert by Duo Arbós, featuring Antonio García Egea on violin, and Fernando Espí on guitar. The performanc­e, entitled ‘music of the world’, contains works by Celso Machado, Laurent Boutros, Tavi Shankar, Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Domeniconi and Pablo Sarasate.

Tickets are €7 and are available at the venue box office, from 19.30 today.

The remaining two concerts are by Duo Fortecello, consisting of Anna Mikulska on cello, and Philippe Argenty on piano.

The first of these is on Saturday, April 24 at 20.00 at Alfaz del Pi culture centre, and sees the duo performing pieces by Chopin, Saint-Saens, Brahms and Piazzolla.

Tickets are €10 and on sale from the venue box office, from one hour prior to the concert.

The final performanc­e of the weekend is at Albir social centre at midday on Sunday and features the duo performing compositio­ns by Joaquin Nin, Rogelio Huguet and Tagell, Gaspar Cassadó, Enrique Granados, Abraham Espinoza,

and Manuel de Falla.

Tickets are €10, or €5 for members, and available from the venue from one hour prior to the performanc­e.
