Face-to-face appointments to return for patients who want them
Face-to-face appointments to return for patients who want them
HEALTH centres are aiming to hold 80% of primary care appointments for their patients in person in May, depending on the level of demand, announced the Valencia government.
Regional health councillor Ana Barceló explained that improving the epidemiological situation at this time is enabling doctors, nurses and paediatricians to ‘gradually start opening their diaries’.
Members of the public will be able to choose between a telephone or an in-person appointment when they need a first appointment with primary care and book it using the GVA+Salut app, the health department website, by telephone to their health
centre, or by calling 961 839 000.
Reinstatement of face-toface visits to health centres
comes at the same time as two other measures designed to optimise attention, avoid unnecessary journeys, and prevent crowding in health centres which could compromise the safety of professionals and patients.
Triage will continue for patients who come without an appointment, in order to offer each person the service they request as quickly as possible and using the most appropriate resources.
Telephone appointments will still be considered preferable for follow-up appointments in cases that are not considered to be serious.
Furthermore, reception staff will be responsible for resolving administrative tasks, such as requesting reports and other documents, without the need to consult a doctor.
