Shocking death
Richard Bull, what were you thinking you prize berk? Look, I really am sorry that you're dead and I feel for the family and friends you have left behind, but it's your own silly fault for charging an iPhone while in the bath.
Bull fried himself to a human crisp after the device fell from his chest and into the water. At the time it was connected via an extension cable to a plug socket in the hallway. Since this tragic accident there have been calls for manufacturers to attach safety warnings to items such as iPhones. They should pay no attention to this overreaction. This would be nannying going too far.
We don’t need notices that state the bleeding obvious, because people should exercise common sense instead. In any case, it wasn't the gadget that killed him, but the fact that it was plugged into the mains electricity. Sure, we can all be careless and accidentally do silly things from time to time, but the dangers of electricity coming into contact with water are ingrained in us from early childhood.
If one good thing can come out of Bull’s senseless death it’s that it will act as a cautionary tale to others who may switch off their brain when turning on electrical devices.
