Jávea villa burglar, 18, arrested

AN 18-YEAR-OLD man was arrested thanks to witness descriptions after breaking into a Jávea villa in broad daylight. He was caught in the Ronda Norte area – close to the Gata de Gorgos entrance to the town – after the victims' neighbours called the police and described him.

The accused and an accomplice, who has not yet been caught, reportedly climbed into the villa in the Castellans urbanisation, but the burglary did not involve forced entry. They both escaped before police got there, although it is not yet known whether anything was stolen from the property.
