Sand castle for La Vila fiestas

VILLAJOYOSA town hall and the Santa Marta fiesta association are preparing for the anual Moors and Christians fiestas that begin this Monday and will carry on throughout the week until July 31.

The town is already putting up its castle, although this year its location has changed. It will now be on the sand of Playa Centro, instead of up on the promenade.

This will allow more spectators to gather on the promenade, and more seating will be available as well.

The two main parades will begin at 20.30. The Moors will have their parley at the gates of the castle before they arrive by boat at dawn. See page 38 for the Moors and Christians fiesta programme.
