THE VALENCIA region's website now includes all financial information which can be legally disclosed regarding expenses open to the public.

By accessing www.gva oberta.gva.es/va/inici, anyone can instantly delve into how much each councillor spent on any given trip, how much money they earnt, what contracts were signed, or how much taxpayer's money was spent and to what end, among many other facts.

Furthermore, financial information of up to 70 entities related to the regional govern- ment is also easily accessible.

Treasury councillor Vicent Soler defined it as an 'unprecedented, complete striptease' of their accounts, and added that 'we have gone farther than any other government' in this regard.

Lastly, he also criticised the former PP-led governing team for not being more transparent with the public before, while stressing the fact that a former councillor was almost taken to court when it was discovered that he had used public money for expenses such as shots, sashimi or tips.
