A step too far for Jávea motorists
Crash victims in Jávea had to climb out of their car with a ladder after they became trapped inside the overturned vehicle on Tuesday morning.
Neither the driver nor the passenger was injured after the car hit a wall on Calle La Noguera, but as it was lying on its side, they could not get out.
Police had to drop a ladder down through the driver's side window – a tricky operation in which they had to take great care not to let it land on the people inside.
Officers then held up the car by hand so it did not tip onto its roof as the occupants climbed out.
They were both shaken, but did not need medical treatment.
