Orihuela goes digital

Orihuela council and the regional government have signed an agreement to include the city in the Alicante ‘digital district’. The aim is to get investors interested in launching innovative digital projects related to culture, tourism, water management, climate change and farming. They stressed that the Vega Baja has great potential and experience in these branches. One of headquarters of the so-called ‘digital district’ will be in Orihuela, they noted. Mayor Emilio Bascuñana said the project was an important step to update the economy of the whole Vega Baja and make the area more competitive.
