New collection point for food bank

LA NUCÍA town hall has announced a new collection point for their food programme.

The ‘ Economy Point’ supermarket has been added to their list of four existing drop off points – Dialprix, Aldi, MasyMas and the Padelpoint located at the Camilo Cano sports complex.

A council spokesman noted that the pandemic has meant that more and more people are reliant on food banks and the generosity of strangers.

Items which are gratefully appreciated include vegetable oil, sugar, breakfast cereals, long life milk, tinned products such as tuna, tomatoes, fruit, baby milk as well as personal hygiene products.

Residents of La Nucía who are struggling can make contact with the social services department by calling 96 689 73 30 between 09.00 and 14.00.
