Costa building boom continues
ORIHUELA town hall has approved more licences to build housing in the coastal area of the municipality.
Following the weekly meeting of the local government board ( JGL), council spokesman José Aix said they include one for a building with 40 apartments with a garage.
Another two licences to build single homes with swimming pools were approved, while one to build two homes with pools was denied, an extension to a home was approved and demolition work on another home was legalised.
The council has continued to approve hundreds of building
licences for homes in Orihuela Costa on an almost weekly basis this year, despite protests from residents, associations and opposition parties that the area does not have the public services or infrastructure to cope with the existing population, let along thousands more.
