Companians still going strong

LAST weekend, the Companians Social club, based in Albir celebrated their 15year anniversary. Usually the event is marked with a grand ball, but unfortunately, as with most events this year it had to be cancelled due to the current ongoing health pandemic. Instead, it was a slightly lower key dinner held at Café del Mar in Albir, organised by Rada Haupt and held over two nights to comply with social distancing rules, but none the less very much enjoyed by all of the members who attended. Committee members Isobel Marley and Lesley Taylor, along with Lynn Barber made a fabulous job of decorating the tables and venue.

The club continues to meet for coffee every Tuesday at 11am in Godoys, next to the municipal carpark. The next special event organised is a St Andrew's Night dinner, on Monday, November 30, which will no doubt include a dram or two of whisky.

Bookings are being taken by Isobel and Lesley in addition to their traditional Tinsel & Turkey club lunch, which will take place on Tuesday, December 15.
