AACC enters the fray

- By Barry Wright

THE PRESIDENT of the recentlyfounded Asociación Alicante para la Lucha contra el Cáncer ( Alicante association for the fight against cancer – AACC), Manoli Flores notes that October is the month that is globally dedicated to breast cancer awareness.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month runs from October 1 to October 31 each year and is normally a period of time when numerous activities take place highlighting the plight and fight of people with the illness.

“This October is strange because of Covid, we will have events that cannot take place, such as the walk for life ( Marcha Por la Vida) on October 19, but this is not going to stop our commitment to raising awareness of cancer, in this case cancer,” said Manoli.

“This year, instead of putting on a pink tshirt and doing the walk we will wear the neckerchief bearing the association’s motto ‘ No te rindas’ ( don’t give up), in addition to this, participants can take a photo ( optional), which will be posted on social networks in order to give encouragement to all those who are affected.”.

All of this can be done for a € 5 donation to the association, which can be made at their Torrevieja headquarters at Calle Apollo, 55 from Monday to Friday from 10.0013.00.

The association also has Christmas lottery ( gordo) tickets for sale.

AACC can be contacted on 96 571 66 79 or 686 666 520. breast
