Goodbye to Joan Waddington

IT is with deep sadness that Help at Home ( Costa Blanca) said goodbye to Joan Waddington who passed away on October 3 after a ten month battle with her illness. Joan was supported by her loving family and friends throughout. Her funeral was held at Rojales crematorium on October 6 and guests attended afternoon tea at The Pines Restaurant in Benijófar following the service. A collection was held for Help at Home.

Joan started the Quesada branch of Help at Home ( Costa Blanca) in 2013 and remained at the helm as the coordinator until her illness. With the help of her team of volunteers, Joan ensured support to many in the wider community with her unfailing energy and generosity of spirit.

The charity offers a little short term free help in the home to those who may need support when struggling, possibly following a hospital stay, illness or loss of a partner.

Joan was delighted when three ladies decided to complete a Santiago de Compostela walk and donate their sponsorship funds to Help at Home.

More recently she enjoyed an afternoon tea with her Quesada group of volunteers.

She will be remembered with love by all who knew her.
