The art of observing

- By Barry Wright

FINESTRAT museum is opening its doors to host an exhibition by the French artist and local resident Nelly Gerouard.

Entitled Soplao 3, Gerouard has produced, using drawings, paintings and sculpture, a series of works that have come about as the result of observing bacteria, molecules and living sea organisms.

“This exhibition reveals a woman’s fundamental journey with a very personal and empirical interpretation of art, where her life, emotions, and concerns are reflected in each of her creations,” said the councillor for culture Héctor Baldó, who added that it, ‘ was a privilege to be able to inaugurate an exhibition once again’.

“The crisis provoked by the coronavirus pandemic has

made us unable to enjoy culture for too long,” he lamented.

The exhibition is open Wednesday to Friday from 16.0019.30 and Saturdays from 09.3013.00 until October 31.

Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to visit the museum’s permanent ethnological and archaeological collections. Admission is free.
