ADDA ‘ESSENTIA’ SYMPHONIC MUSIC CYCLE THE SEASON IS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED

March 13: Homage to the Spanish soprano Montserrat Caballé, featuring her daughter, and sometime stage partner, Montserrat Martí Caballé and world-renowned Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint Marc (The little singers of Saint Marc) from France at Teatro Principal. Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint Marc known in Spain as Los Chicos del Coro, first came to internatio­nal recognitio­n in the 2004 film The Chorus (Les Choristes), when they were the film’s main protagonis­ts. March 27: Essentia Dvorák Prague Philharmon­ia directed by Emmanuel Villaume with violin solist Midori perform The Moldau by Smetana, and Dvorák’s Violin Concerto, and Symphony No. 7

April 16: Essentia Mahler Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra directed by Hannu Lintu with cello soloist István Várdai perform Lalo’s Cello Concerto, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 5

April 24: Stravinsky 50 – ADDA Aimfònica directed by Josep Vicent with cello soloist Damián Martínez perform Elgar’s Cello Concerto, and Stravinsky’s Petrushka

Registrati­on closes March 4: Town hall-organised free online sign language course. Participan­ts who complete the 60-hour course will obtain A1 level standard. It is aimed at people aged from 16-35 years, and runs from March 15 to June 2.
