Menike showing the brighter side of life

-

Our life is an awesome machine that works nonstop for sixty, seventy or eighty years or more, that no one in this modern world could even dream of manufacturing. It is a machine that works even while we sleep. It is common to all people living in this world. Isn’t this natural blessing alone good enough to make up our minds to live in peace and harmony without envying anyone. If you intend living longer and happier, don’t’ envy others and just be kind to all creations of this world.

This is a quote that came in a book written by veteran writer on positive thinking and psychology counsellor Menike Sumanasekara on achieving good health through positive power.

Most of books target day-to-day lives and the human mind aimed at guiding readers to experience the brighter side in life.

“I was born in Pilimathalawa and studied at Pilimathalawa central College.I graduated from the Peradeniya University and then joined the Land reforms Commission where I rose to the post of Director (Kandy) through hardwork and commitment. I also served as director and Kegalle and later joined my husband in Indonesia due to his official commitment. After a two year period there I returned and decided to retire prematurely as I wanted to focus more on my family. I studied psychology as a subject in Indonesia and later in the Philippines while reading several books on the subject. I followed a course on counselling at the Sri Jayawardenapura Campus and decided that I should share my knowledge with the people of this country," she said.
