A/L examination paper errors continue
Errors in the 2012 A/L examination papers continued to mount with the most recent amendment included in the Physics paper II held yesterday morning. Errors have already been reported in Combined Maths paper I and II as well as Agriculture
In spite of the repeated reports on errors in 2012 A/L examination papers, Examinations Commissioner W. M. J. Pushpakumara says he had not yet received a single complaint concerning any inconvenience the candidates had to undergo due to the errors.
However, he vowed that none of the 2012 A/L candidates would be subjected to any injustice with regard to the errors contained in several examination papers.
Commissioner Pushpakumara speaking to Daily Mirror pointed out this year is not the first instance where A/L examination papers have contained errors.
“A/L examination papers contained blunders even during previous years and yet it did not become a grave concern as the media did not highlight the incidents,” he said.
The Commissioner said all the blunders in this year’s examination had been minor and assured the relevant amendments had been sent to all examination centers to guarantee the candidates would not face any inconvenience.
“Moreover, in order to further ensure the candidates are not subjected to any injustice, the Chief Controllers have already made provisions to study the answer scripts of subjects that contained errors and a fair decision will be made prior to preparing the marking scheme for each subject,” he said.
