NSB appoints new Chairman
Sunil S. Sirisena has been appointed as the new Chairman of National Savings Bank (NSB) with effect from August 13, 2012.
He is a senior officer in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service and prior to this, he served as the Secretary to the Ministries of Education, Co-operatives and Internal Trade and Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare.
Sirisena obtained his first Degree in Economics (Special) with Honours from the University of Peradeniya and the PostGraduate Diploma in Statistics from the University of Colombo.
In addition, he had been conferred with the Diploma in Management for Professionals from the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA).
As a senior officer in the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, he is equipped with more than 36 years of experience in the field of management.
In addition, he has served as Chairman of the National Film Corporation and an Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Defence.
Sunil S. Sirisena is an old boy of Dharmaraja College, Kandy.
The duty assuming ceremony took place at the NSB Head Office, Kollupitiya and Lionel P. Fernando, Sumith Wijesinghe and Priyantha Jayawardhana, members of the newly appointed director board and the senior management of NSB were present on the occasion.
