Sri Lanka A – Pakistan A 2nd Unofficial Test Match

Right hand batsman Usman Salahuddin and skipper Fawad Alam guided Pakistan A to make a bold reply on day three of the second unofficial Test match against Sri Lanka A at the Pallekele Internatio­nal Stadium.

Usman made an unbeaten 86 off 218 balls inclusive of nine boundaries while Fawad continued his top form of the tour as he cracked his second successive half ton making a 90 ball knock of 64 that included eight boundaries and a six.

In fact this was his fifth successive half ton of the tour having made three in the unofficial ODI’s.

The pair associated in a valuable 123 runs stand for the fourth wicket helping Pakistan A make a bold reply of 287 for 5 from the 95 overs they faced for the day.

The proceeding­s in the morning saw Pakistan A openers Khurram Manzoor and Shan Masood adding 31 runs before being separated which was followed by a 25 runs second wicket stand between Shan Masiid and Umar Amin.

Another brief 28 runs stand for the third wicket between Masud and Usman Salahuddin came to an end with the dismissal of Masud before Usman and Fawad steered the side.

Later Usman joined by Imad Wasim further frustrated the Sri Lanka A bowlers. The pair playing with cautious accumulate­d runs with ease and Than posted their 50 runs for the fifth wicket. The partnershi­p came to an end two runs later with pacie Vishwa Fernando making the breakthrou­gh dismissing Wasim for 21.

Usman and Adnan Akmal negotiated just under eight overs with the pair adding 28 runs for the sixth wicket before play was called off due to bad light. Today is the final day of play and an inevitable draw is on the cards.
