Search for ‘BIC Twin Lady’ brand ambassador contest concludes successfully
BIC Twin Lady razors, marketed in Sri Lanka by Darley Butler & Company Limited, conducted an extensive islandwide search for a young lady to act as its brand ambassador.
The search was spearheaded by a media campaign in leading newspapers, which attracted a large number of entries.
Unlike the selection of most brand ambassadors who are popular personalities, the search was open to the public.

We needed a fresh face to lead our brand in all future sales and marketing promotions and someone who could easily relate to our target group. We were happy with the response to our media campaign.”
After t he i nitial selection round in March this year, the final selection took place at the BMICH recently from amongst 25 finalists. A distinguished panel of judges included Umayangana Wickramasinghe – popular young actress, Shiromi Priyadhashini – popular TV personality,. Ghaffer Ghouse – CEO Personal Care Products at Darley Butler & Company Ltd, Barry Juriansz – Managing Director of Ribbs N& L (Pvt.) Ltd and Aruna Hewapathirana – Creative Director of Ribbs N & L (Pvt.) Ltd. The selection criteria were based on personality, general appearance, confidence and overall aptitude and capability t o act as an effective brand ambassador. The brand ambassador will be primarily responsible for the ongoing brand activation project ‘Suwanda Pirunu Sumudu Ruwak’ conducted by the company at garment factories around the Greater Colombo area. She will be an active participant at every event in the future. This programme, which targets women garment factory workers, showcases a grooming session conducted by a reputed beautician to help them improve their acceptance in public and amongst their peer group. This will also create an opportunity for the brand ambassador to gain social recognition and fast track her personal career.
