HFC, Bambalapit­iya win by a whisker

Holy Family Convent, Bambalapit­iya defeated St. Joseph’s Convent, Nugegoda by a whisker when they posted a close 32 to 31 points win in their All Island under 17 girls cager fixture at the British School court on Sunday. However, it was the Josephians who were in front at half time with 21 points to the Familians 17.

For the Familians the best shooters were Manthila Gallage with 10 points and Sandrene David 7. For the Josephians, Divyangi Salome 12 points and Chalani Perera 10 played best.

OLV win over Hill wood

Our Lady of Victories, Moratuwa posted a 40 to 21 points win over Hillwood College, Kandy in their under 17 All Island ‘A’ division basketball fixture at the British School court on Sunday.At the short whistle OLV held a 21 to 7 point lead.

Shashini Weerasoori­ya with 15 points and Nimasha Soysa 8 were the best shooters for OLV. For Hillwood Sara Izzadeen with 8 points and Hashini Siriwarden­a 6 were on target.

Flaying in their own territory. The British School in Colombo downed Hillwood College, Kandy by 42 points to 23 in an under 17All Island ‘A’dicision basketball match on Sunday. At half time the British School were way ahead with 27 points to Hillwood four.

Crystal Kuthoor 12 points and Lanka Bandaranay­ake 9 were on target for the home team. For Hillwood the best shooters were Pabashi Machchagam­a with 10 points and Hasini Siriwarden­a 4.

HFC, Bmbalapiti­ya best OLV49 to 32

Holy Family Convent, Bambalapit­iya beat Our Lady of Victories, Moratuwa by 49 points to 32 in their girls All Island ‘A’ division basketball fixture at the British School court on Sunday. The half time score was 28 points to HFC and 14 to OLV.

Sandrene David with 13 points and Serena Warnakula 12 were on target for Holy Family. For OLV the best shooters were, Shasini Weerasoori­ya with 14 points and Aamanda Peiris 5. -
