Body found floating on Kelani Ganga identified

The body of a 52-year-old man was found floating in the Kelani Ganga under the Kaduwela Bridge at Biyagama yesterday morning.

The victim had been identified as Sumith Shantha Peiris of Weliweriya.

He was living in a house at Weliveriya from where he had gone missing for two days. The cause of death was yet to be ascertained. The post-mortem examination was to be done at the Ragama Hospital Morgue yesterday. The Biyagama Police was conducting inquiries.
