Laugfs Gas PLC in a groundbreaking attempt entered a novel and exciting fray at the glamorous NASCO Awards ceremony held last week when t hey received six coveted awards under the highly contested FMCG category.

The NASCO or National Sales Congress organised by Sri Lankan Institute of Marketing (SLIM) is an annual event to reward the cream of sales professionals. These awards in 15 diverse business categories intend to enhance standards of sales professionals in Sri Lanka.

To Laugfs PLC, which has already been rewarded nationally in the fields of quality, corporate citizen, business excellence, corporate and financial disclosures, the excellence of its sales team was heartwarming. These frontliners, who as t he crux of t he company toiled tirelessly to capture 50 percent of the LPG market, truly deserve such acclaim.

We can be proud that a company truly Sri Lankan in its birth and growth could aspire to unparalleled heights not just in business standards and processes but also the service sector.

Though multinational companies formed a majority of t he record number of applicants at this year’s NASCO Awards ceremony, the Laugfs team in its very first attempt proved their mettle as the flag bearers of a great company by winning six coveted awards.

Laugfs Gas today boasts of not only being the fastest growing LPG company but also the largest LPG network islandwide.

Commenting on the achievement Laugfs Gas CEO Ashan De Silva said, “We are indeed proud of this achievement which demonstrates the hard work, dedication and the passion to succeed of our splendid sales team.”

Laugfs Gas, which gave the people the power of choice, continues t o impress the Sri Lankan public. The ability to challenge the status quo whilst vigorously meeting rivalry to overcome obstacles in its path to success, heralds well for this local giant.
