Godrej moves up in Forbes’ Most Innovative company list

Godrej Consumer Products Limited yet again trail-blazed its way into the Forbes’ list of ‘ The World’s 100 Most Innovative Growth Companies 2015’ as the ‘Most innovative FMCG Company’, significan­tly i mproving its position over the previous year.

Moving up to the 24th place in t he coveted Forbes’ list this year, Godrej reinstated its credential­s as the largest Indian-owned multinatio­nal in the world. The Forbes list of ‘The World’s 100 Most Innovative Growth Companies 2015’ is a definitive ranking that is akin to a stamp of global excellence and one which acknowledg­es its achievemen­ts in the global market.

Godrej is the largest homegrown home and personal care company in India with revenues of US $ 4.1 billion. Its product range encompasse­s hair colour, household insecticid­es, liquid detergents and soaps, with reputed brands such as Good Knight, Cinthol, Godrej Expert and Godrej No. 1.

The significan­t aspect of this roll call of honour is that Godrej is the highest ranked Indian multinatio­nal to be listed in the Forbes list, which reflects t he rich and longstandi­ng credibilit­y of the company t hat has been nurturing millions of lives over a century. Forbes has listed Godrej’s innovation premium for 2015 at 64.6 percent. Strongly rooted in the community, Godrej products add value t o people’s lives by ushering in convenienc­e, comfort and a sense of confidence.

Forbes’ The Wo rl d ’s 100 Most Innovative G row th Companies 2015 list ranks companies by their innovation premium: the difference be tween their market capitalisa­tion and a net present value of cash flows from existing businesses. In order to be included, firms need seven years of public financial data and US $ 10 billion in market cap. It includes only industries that are known to invest in innovation.
