Samagi Spice Exports bags Gold at Export Excellence Awards 2015

Samagi Spice Exports (Pvt.) Limited excelled at Export Excellence Awards 2015 organised by the National Chamber of Exports (NCE) held recently by bagging a Gold award in Best Performance in Emerging Markets and a Bronze in Agriculture Bulk Sector – Extra Large category.

Having a reputed name for exporting cinnamon, Samagi Spice Exports (Pvt.) Limited also exports pepper, goraka, nutmeg and arecanut to foreign markets. Having entered into the market as a minor cinnamon exporter, Samagi Spice Exports (Pvt.) Limited was able t o become number one exporter in the field by just a year later in 2013 and has been able to be the market leader in exporting cinnamon for the past few years.

Its market is predominantly in 23 countries including the USA, Mexico, Peru, Nicaragua, Chile and Spain and Samagi Spice Exports (Pvt) Limited Chairman Janaka Abeyratne has so far won many award for his achievements in the export market.

Samagi Spice Exports (Pvt.) Limited has also won many awards and accolades in the recent past including Matara District Gold Award in t he Whole Sale category at Mathota Abhiman 2014 organised by the Commerce and Industries Chamber of Matara District, Best Exporter of Southern Province at Exports Award 2014 organised by the Commerce and Industries Chamber of Hambantota District and National Industrial Development Authority. It also became the first runnerup and won the Silver award in Agriculture Bulk Sector – Extra Large category at NCE Awards 2013.
